Every morning I open our sliding glass door blinds. It helps bring in light, and I'm hopeful of seeing some animals in our backyard. We were busy getting ready for church on this particular morning. I was checking on the children to be sure they were getting dressed. When I walked back into the living room, I looked out the back door (the sliding glass door) and saw it.
I quickly and excitedly called the children to come to the living room. Jason also came from our room, thinking I saw a spider or cockroach or something. I was amazed by the prompt reply to my calling. I told everyone to look outside, and there was a deer outside our back yard. It was right over the ditch, eating leaves off a tree. I grabbed my camera--I was ready this time--and went closer to the door to get a picture of it.
I didn't realize that there were actually 2 deer outside. One was IN our backyard, and when I went near the door it ran toward the trees. Unfortunately, I scared it and the other "eating" deer looked straight at me. I quickly took my pictures, then Nalani walked to me, and the deer ran off into the trees.
Can you sense how excited I was to see the deer? I look outside every day just in case some animals are there. Jason said we'd see deer when it gets cooler, and this was the cooler day. I love being here!
