Fruit Lovers

Our family loves fruit. We usually have a lot of apples or grapes, but recently a lot of other wonderful fruit have been in season and reasonably priced. The fruit doesn't last long (which is good, because we don't want them to go bad & get thrown out), and we sure enjoy eating it all.

PiPa

Saturday, March 15, 2008

Jason took the children to Chinese school because I was tired from taking the GRE and driving. When they were leaving the school they found a bush or plant that grows PiPa (sounds like pee-pah). Here's a picture of it.

PiPa is a small fruit. You carefully peel the thin layer of skin off and eat the middle. It's amazing that the fruit is so small (about the size of an olive), and it still has 2-3 seeds (about the size of a popcorn kernel) inside.

Nalani is the fruit lover so she ate almost all of the fruit. Fortunately, the rest of us were able to try at least one.
