1/1/2009 Happy New Year! Last year we wrote down our resolutions for the year. I did not do a very good job at keeping my resolutions. This year we re-resolved to do what we didn't do last year, and added new resolutions to the list. I have a very long list, and hope to follow through with most, if not all, of them. If you've made your own resolutions, then I hope you're better at keeping them than I am. I don't believe that once you slip up you've failed to keep your resolution. I believe that we need to keep working on them.
1/3/2009 Leiohu got her 1st tooth! She's 6 months now so this is the time, but I still can't believe it.
1/12/2009 Nalani and Hokulani had their first appointment with the dentist since who knows when. The results were not good, unfortunately. They each have quite a number of cavities. We have to go back for fillings. Ugh!
1/14/2009 Anuhea went to the dentist, and she had cavities, but MUCH less (only 2).

1/16/2009 Leiohu has been eating solid foods (baby food). She hasn't taken to it very well, but at least she's eating it. She had peas, carrots, mashed potatoes, applesauce, and bananas (not all at the same time). Here's a video of Leiohu eating. Sorry it's kind of shaky. I don't remember if Anuhea or Nalani was filming, but you should still be able to see Leiohu's reaction.
1/17/2009 The Taiwanese association in Orlando had a Lunar New Year (aka Chinese New Year) celebration. We attended and had a nice time. As usual, the food was delicious. Many members from the association make the food, and we enjoy our "fix" of Taiwanese food. We also received red envelopes (with money). Yay!
1/26/2009 It's Lunar New Year--the year of the ox. If you're an ox, then here's something about you: Dependable, calm, methodical, born leader, patient, hardworking, ambitious, conventional, steady, modest, logical, resolute, tenacious. Can be stubborn, narrow-minded, materialistic, rigid, demanding. (This comes from Wikipedia.)

[This is a correction to the post, where I said it was the year of the pig. Oops!]
1/26/2009 Happy birthday, Anuhea! Anuhea's 12 years old now. Jason and I can't believe she's so old already, especially since that makes us old too. Anuhea is growing up beautifully. We're so proud of her in many ways. Anuhea is in the Young Women program now at church. She's in the Beehive class, and is excited to be there. The Primary program is behind her now. :) Being that it is Anuhea's birthday, she was lucky to have her annual physical on her birthdate. Everything's great with her. She's healthy! For Anuhea's birthday we went to The Olive Garden restaurant. I don't mind that Anuhea chose The Olive Garden, because it's my favorite restaurant. The food was delicious. At home we had a birthday cake. Mmm! We love you, Anuhea!
I started Jazzercise! A friend of mine has been going and told me about it. I decided to try it out because I really need to get more exercise into my schedule. Also, I can't get into my pre-pregnancy clothes, and I'm getting so sick of being almost as heavy as I was before delivery (7 months ago!). I exercise 2-3 times a week, and I'm able to do it for free, because I babysit for the women who bring their children on Wednesdays. Usually, it's just Leiohu and me, but sometimes someone else will bring her child/children. I can't wait to wear some of my old clothes again.
1/30/2009 Leiohu's 7 months and growing. She is so much fun and has become much more adventurous. It's amazing how quickly Leiohu grows, learns, and acts. She loves to stand whie holding onto things.
Leiohu couldn't hold out until the celebration. Cupcakes! Mmm!
Enjoy some pictures.....
Jason
Leiohu likes riding on her daddy's shoulders. Look at her sticking out her tongue.
