Leiohu can stand and we don't know why she's doing that so soon. She's only 7-1/2 months young. Also, Hokulani is very good at getting Leiohu to laugh. She doesn't do much, but Leiohu always thinks it's funny.
Enjoy the videos!

Did you read the blog that said we weren't very successful with our garage sale? No? Well, read it! Just kidding. Here are some of the things we're trying to get rid of. Interested? Let us know. We also have stuffed animals, videos (for VCR), and more.

It's President's Day! To celebrate (well, not really) I went to Jazzercise and the children played at the park, since they were out of school.

Nalani (on the slide) & Hokulani (on the ground)

TIC-TAC-TOE!

Can you guess whose feet are whose?
Answers: Nalani's on the left; Anuhea's on the right

2/15--VIDEO: Shwa Ya
Sunday, February 15, 2009
Leiohu gets to have her teeth brushed--all 2 of them! Isn't she so lucky to have someone brush her teeth for her? Well, I don't know if I'd like someone brushing my teeth for me now. The title of this post is Shwa Ya, which is brush teeth in Chinese. I'm sure I got the pinyin wrong, but I couldn't think of how to write Shwa in pinyin. Here are the characters in Chinese (if it shows up in my post): 刷牙
Leiohu loved having the toothbrush in her mouth. She especially loved biting my finger when I tried brushing her gums. Here's the video, compliments of Anuhea, one of the videographers in our family.

2/14--Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!

Jason and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, February 11th. Fourteen years--can you believe it?! Where has all the time gone? It doesn't seem like we've been married that long, but we have been through a lot and are very happy together.
We didn't actually do anything on Wednesday, because we went out today, on Valentine's Day, instead. Jason and I went on a double date with friends from our Ward, Jason and Kimarie Howard. Yes, both husbands are named Jason. When Kimarie and I are talking to each other, we usually refer to our husbands as "my husband" so there won't be any confusion about which Jason we're talking about.
The four of us went out to a Korean restaurant. The food was delicious! Although I can't take spicy food very well, Jason loves it, and I still enjoyed it. We had a great time talking and eating. Kimarie served her mission in Korea so she suggested the food she likes, and we didn't mind. We ordered Bulgogi, and got way more than we expected. We grilled the meat ourselves (there was a grill in front of us), and ate all of it! We also got Japchae (I think), Kimchi, rice, Mandu, and other side dishes. Yum!

2/13--VIDEO: Leiohu on a chair
Friday, February 13, 2009
Leiohu is getting more adventurous every day. She also wants to do what everyone else does. When she found this little wooden chair, she wanted to sit on it just like her big sisters.
Enjoy the video. You probably want to watch only the beginning, because Leiohu doesn't do much, but smile and look cute. (Of course, WE love it!)

2/7--Talent Show
Saturday, February 7, 2009
The Oviedo Ward Primary organization held a fun quarterly activity. It was a talent show. All forms of talent were accepted, ranging from baking (the children showed their baked product and told how they made it) to martial arts.
Now that Anuhea is out of Primary and in Young Women she didn't participate, and was glad we couldn't "make" her do something. Nalani and Hokulani were happy and willing to share their talents.
Nalani played "O Christmas Tree" on her ceramic flute that she learned to play while we lived in Taiwan. She forgot to curtsy at the end, but her song was perfect. Way to go, Nalani!

Hokulani played "Merrily We Roll Along" on the piano. She diligently practiced and performed very well. We're so proud of you, Hokulani!

As you can see, these are just still shots as I failed to get video recordings of the girls during their performances. Sorry!

2/7--Garage Sale
Saturday, February 7, 2009
Our community had a garage sale so we decided to participate, since our garage is filled with things we don't need or want. Here is a picture of Nalani, Hokulani, and me as we tried to sort through everything and give prices to our "junk".

Unfortunately, our garage sale was not very successful. A lot of people came by, but not many wanted what we were offering. We made about $35. We still have a lot of stuff to get rid of, so if you want something and you live nearby, then call us. Maybe we have what you're looking for.

2/3--Nalani's 10 Years Old
Tuesday, February 3, 2009
Nalani is our 2nd child, and she turned 10 on February 3rd! Jason and I can't believe how old she is now. Nalani's still short so we often forget how old she is.
We didn't have a birthday party like we did last year. However, we had a nice time together as a family. Nalani requested pizza for dinner so we bought crust & made our own cheese and pepperoni pizzas. Yum! For dessert I intended to make a dessert pizza (round), but made it in a rectangular pan instead. It still tasted great!
Nalani got an MP3 player from Jason and me. She was so excited because she had been wanting one for a while. Unfortunately, it wasn't an iPod, but it still plays music.
Happy Birthday, Nalani!

Nalani wore her pretty blouse instead of her regular t-shirts.

cheese and pepperoni pizza

Amazing! We could still get candles on the candy-covered pizza cookie.
