Nalani had her birthday on February 3rd. She's a whopping 11 years old! Nalani's in the 5th grade, and we--her parents--can't believe she'll be in middle school next year.
Nalani had a Backwards Birthday Party at our house. Unfortunately, only 1 person she invited was able to attend, but we had a great time anyway.
Nalani received birthday cards and money in the mail!
Like Anuhea, Nalani didn't want a plain old cake for her birthday. She requested Brownie Delight, which has brownies on the bottom layer, chocolate pudding, then whipped topping & chocolate shavings on top. Mmm!
We gave Nalani a journal and money.
We had delicious pizza for dinner. We love the California Pizza Kitchen BBQ Chicken pizza. We also love DiGiorno Supreme Pizza.

McKenley Howard came to the party and gave Nalani 3D puzzles that form the shapes of a fish and a frog.
Hokulani gave Nalani Pocky (snack).
Abigail Duncan (who couldn't attend in the morning, but played with Nalani later) gave Nalani the Uno Attack game. Wow!

What is a backwards party? I looked at the pictures and everything seems correct, so what's backwards?
Meleana, we wore our clothes backwards (except Jason, I guess); we played games first, had dessert (sang "Happy Birthday To You"), ate lunch, and then opened presents. We also had the guest come in through the garage (it had an "enter" sign) instead of the front door (it had an "exit" sign). One of the games had a "gameboard" on the floor made out of cardboard & the children had to go to each piece backwards (walk or hop backwards). That's all I can remember right now. ~Carmel
